A free ticketed gala opens the Showcase with drinks and food provided, during which our three prestigious awards will be handed out to the lucky winners! As part of the York Festival of Ideas, this weekend event promises to display some amazing and inspiring work. Please check our openings times below and social media for updates!
Interactive Media at the University of York consists of an undergraduate BSc programme and a postgraduate Masters by Research, launched in 2014 and 2017 respectively. Mobile apps, websites, games, and social media have transformed the way we work, play, learn, and interact with each other. But this is just the beginning. With new interactive technologies like virtual reality on the horizon, we are only just beginning to understand the huge potential of interactive media to transform and enhance our lives.
The Interactive Media programmes at York teaches students and gives them the opportunity to create the new types of interactive media content that are transforming our society. It is a unique multidisciplinary degree that combines creativity, technical work, user experience design, computer programming and critical analysis of digital culture and storytelling to equip our students with a well-rounded set of skills to create for the technological future.
